ETR 100km ULTRA
Dillon Rinn
Wearing a 30 Pounds weight vest, thus setting the new world record for being the World's First person to run over 100km while wearing a 30 Pounds weight vest, according to the WORLD RECORD ACADEMY.
The course was measured by race directors and team, and is a registered race event held annually. The weight vest was weighed consistently throughout the race, and the distanced covered on foot was tracked electronically by wearing a chip and having timing plates set up throughout the course.
The weight vest was weighed consistently throughout the race, and the distanced covered on foot was tracked electronically by wearing a chip and having timing plates set up throughout the course.
In total, the distanced covered from start to finish was 112 kilometers, which consisted of technical terrain, and reaching an elevation gain and loss of over 6,000 meters with a total time of 37 hours. The weight vest throughout, totaled a weight of 33lbs, without the inclusion of water and food that was also carried throughout the race.
Course organiser Kerry Williams said it was an outstanding effort, the Port Macquarie News reports.
"The first year he ran 160 kays, then last year he gave the 200 a crack and this year he wanted to set a new record," she said.
"Overall, the whole experience was more than what I could have asked for. Because although I set out to challenge myself, and create a record that hadn’t been done before, it was great to see a community of ultra runners/supporters come together to cheer me on.
"I approached the race on my own, with no crew around me for any help. However, it became clear quickly just how many people wanted to turn up and be there to help support me, encourage me, and see me succeed. It’s those moments in which I take away most, and am grateful for.
"Throughout the whole run, I felt a sense of excitement and happiness to be there. It’s a great feeling finding out how far your body and mind can take you, and a feeling that doesn’t compare to any other once you break the point of what is normal and what isn’t."
Dillon states that this will only be the first challenge of many more to come, and wishes to involve as many people as possible, and in turn do it all for a charity cause.
"Doing it not only for himself, but for many others as well. It’s important to bring people together, to realise who you are and what your capable of achieving with the right mentality."
Why are you registering with us?
"Because the World Record Academy allows anyone to put an idea into action, and create a world record, knowing what it takes in order to accomplish such a task."
